WHAT IS A SHARE?
A share contains one or more pieces of digital content or file you wish to share. They can include photos, documents, small files, links, movies, music and text from either your photo library, cloud storage, or cut/pasted from clipboard. You can choose up to 10 files (music, files, photos) up to 100MB in total size, or up to 5 minutes of one compressed video per share. Multi-file shares act as playlists when opened.
The content is copied, then secured, encrypted and whisked away to the blockchain, where it’s substituted for the newly secure version that you can share and control with your peers. The original content is still safely stored on your device or filesystem from whence you found it. Foursure® is not a storage system meant to archive or backup files, but a way to share and secure controlled copies of your content with just a few simple taps.
Shares have a universal unique share ID, or an alphanumeric code/link, and an encrypted thumbnail image that identifies the share makes it simple to manage, share and consume content, The share ID is a pointer or reference to the real content, which is named in full only for authors and approved recipients, for privacy, security and control.
Shares normally last for 30 days (or less if timer set). Subscribers can have up to 100 active shares at any given time and can edit, revoke, or delete them in realtime.
In summary : you can have 100 active shares at any time, up to 10 files at 10 MB each, for a total of 100MB, or one 5 minute video, and they last for 30 days by default, unless monetized.
