Controlled shares are those that have been given additional factors on top of normal security that involve permissions granted or forbade by the author in terms of real-time access, download and re-access.
There are four main controls: allow/deny (private) which requires the author's individual permissions or share access, driven by mutual push-notification and approval; no-download which prevents the recipient from downloading the share, only permitting view and playback in the secured, FourSure player; watermark which goes along with no download/screenshot and splashes the recipients ID across the content to prevent 2nd camera capture; and single-access which allows the recipient to view or download the content only once (1x).
When an allow/deny control is set, the recipient will see a notice that access has been requested, followed by a push message to the author requesting access from the user at a given location and time. The author has 24 hours to respond, or the share is considered denied. If approved, the recipient is responded to with a push message allowing access to the share or continued progress to security factor tests or in-app purchase for monetized shares. If denied, the user is blocked. In addition, the author may block or ban the requesting user if there are issues, resulting in the same denial. Repeat requests to access DO NOT generate repeat push messages. There is only one request in the author's queue, so there is no need to attempt to spam or repeat access requests.
